BULLER, SIROTA AND HAYDN

A Call for the Battle to Cease | Robert Sirota and Victoria Sirota (World Premiere) - Simone Dinnerstein, piano

Mass in Exile | Mark Buller and Leah Lax (New York Premiere)

Mass in Time of War (excerpts) | Franz Joseph Haydn

Three inspiring works for chorus, soloists and orchestra express the compassion in our hearts as they explore the timeless human yearning for peace. Modeled on Beethoven’s exhilarating Choral Fantasy, Robert Sirota’s A Call for the Battle to Cease, on a text by Victoria Sirota, heard in its world premiere, features world-renowned concert pianist Simone Dinnerstein (“Spellbinding” - The Washington Post).  Mark Buller’s Mass in Exile, for chorus with strings, guitar, and baritone, on a libretto by Leah Lax, recasts the traditional mass structure with contemporary texts.  Haydn’s thrilling Mass in Time of War rounds out the program.
